On Tuesday August 13, an exceptional evening took place at the foot of the Alpilles mountains, in the enchanting setting of Golf de Servanes. This exclusive event brought together astronomers, aviation enthusiasts and the curious to attend a unique conference hosted by Jean-Loup Chrétien, France’s first astronaut, followed by an unforgettable starlit evening.
A delicious meal at the Bergerie des Alpilles
The evening began at 7:00 pm at La Bergerie des Alpilles, a restaurant nestled in a picturesque setting. Guests were welcomed onto the shady terrace, surrounded by majestic plane trees, for a convivial meal. We would like to extend our warmest thanks to Jean-Michel Alazard, the restaurant’s owner, and his entire team, for their warm welcome and impeccable service. The dinner, featuring refined local dishes, allowed guests to enjoy a moment of relaxation before the long-awaited conference.

After a delicious meal, the evening continued on the driving range of Golf de Servanes, a place imbued with serenity and natural beauty. It was here that we had the immense privilege of meeting Olivier Blanc Tailleur, former fighter pilot on Mirage 2000 and Rafale, and former member of the prestigious Patrouille de France. Now an individual and team coach, Olivier Blanc Tailleur captivated the audience with fascinating anecdotes from his military career, sharing his unique experience of aviation and the importance of teamwork.
The atmosphere was at its height when Jean-Loup Chrétien made his entrance for the long-awaited lecture. This space pioneer, who made history by becoming the first Frenchman to travel into space, passionately shared his extraordinary journey. His stories, both inspiring and humbling, transported the audience into the fascinating world of the conquest of space. Jean-Loup Chrétien captivated the audience with his missions, challenges and thoughts on the future of space exploration.
